About Hometown Garage
Hometown Garage was founded in 1994 by Matt Burkholder. Matt is a Colorado native who started repairing vehicles as a teenager in the town of Lyons. After graduating from Colorado Aero Tech and earning his Airframe and Powerplant License from the FAA, Matt moved to Alaska. Here he worked on a commercial vessel as a deckhand and engineer. After 5 years of keeping all the equipment on the fishing vessels in top condition, Matt returned to Denver where he accepted a position as Mechanic with Continental Airlines. A few years later he was promoted to Supervisor and accepted the responsibility of Line Maintenance in Denver. When Stapleton Airport closed, Matt supervised a Hanger for Continental Airlines in Cleveland Ohio. After commuting from Denver to Ohio weekly for a year, Matt decided to return home and open his own business. He realized that there was a need in the area for a reputable, honest garage. Hometown Garage has been open every day since, is pleased to provide prompt, honest service to our neighbors.
